I'm a hybrid photographer. No, that is not some weird science way of doing photography. :) That just means that when I show up to a session or wedding, I bring both a digital and a film camera. What?!? A film camera, why?! Well let me tell you. My love for photography started using a film camera a little over a decade ago. I just love the tones and the texture of grain found in film images. There are so many ways to experiment, and it forces me to think through every single shot. It engages my creative side, and forces me to be a better photographer.
SPOILER ALERT: If you like my photography, whether you realize it or not, you also like film photography! To keep my galleries consistent, I edit all of my digital images to match film. :)

No, I do not drop them all at Walgreens like we did in the 90's. :) I send all of my film out to be professionally developed by The Film Lab. They do AWESOME work and have a quick turn around. So, shooting film does not delay receiving your gallery.

This is one of the first questions people ask me after booking their session with me! There is not technically a 'right or wrong' when it comes to what you wear to your session, but I do have some tips to make the overall feel of the session cohesive.
Coordinate, don’t match.
Wear something you are comfortable in - style and physically.
Avoid neon and really bright colors. It messes with your skin tone in photos.

Believe it or not, pretty much every client tells me this before their session...but it NEVER turns out to be true! Part of my job is to try and make you feel as comfortable as possible, and I honestly love coaching my clients through the posing process. I promise, it'll be fun. We'll play some games and get to know each other. You'll end up having fun and with great photos!

Part of being a photographer is flexibility and being able to capture gorgeous photos regardless of the weather. So if it rains on your wedding day, then don't worry! We will still get beautiful photos. Cloudy days are actually some of my favorite to shoot because it creates this really beautiful diffused light. If you’ve booked a family session and it’s raining, then we can reschedule. Each client and family is different.
